“We sat down late last night and went through the photos and really, really love them. – they’re beautiful, we are both stunned as to how beautiful these pictures have come out. We really love them! It’s been very difficult to pick our favourites!”
Danny & Zoe were referred to me by Danny’s sister, Julie, who knows my name well due to working at a popular wedding venue in Hastings. I had the privilege of photographing Julies’ gorgeous winter wedding and its upon seeing these photographs – and Julie’s recommendation that Danny and Zoe reached out to see if I could shoot their wedding all the way in sunny Mallorca.
The answer was a very easy – yes!
Danny & Zoe chose Finca Son Bosch on the Spanish island of Mallorca to celebrate their marriage. They wanted to plan a fairly small and relaxed wedding with mainly close friends and immediate family. Once they visited Finca Son Bosch, they fell in love with it instantly and booked it straight away.
Finca Son Bosch is small family-run business situated in the middle of the Tramuntana Mountains near Andratx. Imagine yourself in the beautiful southwest of Mallorca, driving up through the windy roads of the mountain to be greeted by a beautiful 750 year old Finca with the backdrop of the Port behind you.
As I’m sure you can see – this venue was an absolute joy to cover – from the windy drive up the mountain – all the way through to the unspoilt night sky littered with stars and the silhouette of the mountains.
As Photographer, it was my job to recognise the key ingredients of this Mediterranean wedding – the heady sun, the homemade, Mallorcan lemonade, the summertime disposition of their relaxed guests, the tapas and the views – and wrap them around this gorgeous couple, so modest and so in love. It’s easy to get caught up and shoot the details and all of the candids whilst forgetting about the final edit. You’ve got to delicately choose what to shoot and how to shoot it and where it fits in so that you can tell their story competently and thoroughly. All of this comes with experience – and when you have the opportunity to photograph a wedding such as this one you feel a bit giddy, thankful and you don your sunscreen and you put your best foot forward.
This was such an incredible wedding and I am so thankful to have shot it. Danny and Zoe’s wedding in the Mallorcan mountains.
